Faith

There are two kinds of faith, she said. The first one deals entirely with logic and facts. It allows us to think ahead and plan the best course. It forces us to weigh decisions and the consequences of such decisions. What are we willing to sacrifice? What are we willing to gain? And how will we be able to achieve those means? This is faith according to plan.

And then there is the other kind

There are things we cannot plan for. Things that we cannot calculate. We are short sighted, small, and weak. And yet we still have hope. As if there is some innate understanding that there is another force out there stronger than us. We feel it resonate within our bodies. There is a connection between life and all those who drink from it. It is the song that we are meant to sing. It is our faith.
