They test our memorization to see if we really grasped the subject. But do we really understand? Instead of concentrating on critical thinking, they want us to memorize the specific number of times a word was said and in what year and by who, but do we even notice the importance of that conversation? This test is just another checklist to make sure we did a task. We are bowls rapidly inhaling knowledge only to pour it over a page and retain none of it. That is all that we pay for, an experience, an illusion of growth, proof on a paper, a document that states we can follow directions instead of truly understanding what has happened and who we have become.
